Welcome.
Experience
I am Meghan Hole, registered psychologist in Alberta, Canada.
I work with adults and teens experiencing emotional ups and downs, suicide and self-harm, trauma and attachment-related concerns, loss, etc.
It’s important that you feel comfortable and respected in therapy. While therapists bring different styles into the room, my approach is warm and thoughtful. Therapy doesn’t stop when the session ends. Change happens in the moments between sessions, as you begin to notice patterns, practice new skills, and relate to yourself differently. Therapy is one hour out of your week, and we’ll work together to identify what feels realistic and meaningful to practice outside of session in order to move you toward your goals.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking my dogs, and spending time in the mountains. Some personal values include humility, compassion, and humour.
While I work with children, I am not currently accepting new clients. Please contact me for more information about my work with children, including psychological assessment.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy-informed
DBT-informed is a practical, skills-based approach that helps you understand your emotions, respond more effectively in the moment, and build a life worth living. Therapy focuses on acceptance and change using tools like mindfulness.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
ART is a trauma therapy that helps the brain process difficult memories using eye movements so they lose their emotional charge. Clients stay fully in control, and many people notice relief faster than other therapeutic modalities.
Play Therapy-informed
I use play therapy to support creativity, movement, and symbolic expression to help children process emotions that are hard to put into words. Children benefit by accessing insight, emotional release, and regulation through hands-on, experiential work rather than talk alone.
Creating a Supportive Space
I am committed to creating a supportive, affirming space where clients feel safe to be themselves. This commitment is supported through ongoing training, including focused learning about First Nations, Metis and Inuit culture and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
